A Visit to Avonlea

We’re back from Prince Edward Island and I had a wonderful time…mostly. On our first day, our initial plan was to make it a beach day, but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate, so after freezing in the sand for a half hour, we went back to our cottage to hang out for a while. We were staying in a cute little cottage at Anne’s Windy Poplars in Cavendish. Thankfully, it warmed up in the afternoon, so we headed over to Avonlea, Village of Anne of Green Gables, about 5 minutes down the road from where we were staying. For all you Anne of Green Gables fans, it is definitely worth it. We walked around the village, visiting the school house, the church, the fancy hat shop and the gardens, to name a few. We were there at the end of the day, so we missed a lot of the daily events, but thankfully, we saw the pig races! It was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Belle sure had a great time! What a lovely afternoon. I had lots of pics of our day, but sadly, they were accidentally deleted from the camera, except for the one below. I guess I’ll just have to remember it without the photos. Aside from that first day, I wound up getting sick so there wasn’t much more happening except sleeping. Oh well!

I hope you had a great weekend and have a nice week,
